I really liked him but in the back of my mind always felt he took too many chances. I thought it would be death by croc actually. I am very very shocked and feel more sad for his surviving family especially his wife and kid(s). I am guessing he attempted to pick one up like we did on our cruise to Grand Caymen. If you pick a large one up putting one wing over each arm you can make them spit water at what ever you are aiming for and it makes a nice picture. Of course those giant rays are quite tame and are hand fed daily although still in their natural environment. He probably did this with a large one that was not happy and it stuck it's spine up for defense. Very very sad indeed. |
