Re: Corgi 1/48 Choppers

Yes, the Corgi's are smaller than the FMs, but that's because they're completely different airframes! The Corgis are B/Cs and the FMs are ostensibly Hs. If you want a gunship, the Corgis are the only option. If you want a slick, the FMs are the only option. FM has made some of their Hs into gunships, which is ahistorical and while the finish and detailing may come off slightly better than the Corgis, they are ruined by the ridiculous pintle-mounted .50 cals. Hueys could not take a .50 cal mounted in that way. Yes, some Hueys did mount .50s, but not only using special improvised mounts, and they were as rare as Hens teeth. I dumped all of my FMs because they bugged me so much. The Corgis may have their problems, but if you want a nice representative Vietnam bird, go with Corgi.

Hover,
what about the gatling mounted Hueys from FM (i.e. Cowboys)? Do you know if they're accurate, not in detail but historically speaking (because we all know that FM would never put out anything inaccurate detail wise! )

BTW, I know the airframes are different but from the pics it seems the models are slightly different scales.
