Funny thing about the USS Alabama: During Hurricane Ivan (I think it was Ivan) she actually moved a few inches out of her normal assigned spot. This may not sound like a big deal except that she's "parked" in a few tons of concrete. Unfortunately, a lot of the aircraft were damaged from the storm surge but I think have since been repaired. It's been A LONG time since I've been there, even though she's only about five hours away. |
