Re: Most sought after GMP model

I acquired Petie this week from Perry Aircraft Hobbies. Others are still available... they are selling for MSRP $149.95. I'd say this is a bargain considering how rare this one is and its stunning livery. The pad printed graphics are outstanding! Shipping wasn't bad when combined with two Corgi Stukas.

I am a bit schizophrenic about the GMP Stangs though. I love the detai / and I hate the lack of detail! What do I mean by that: well, for starters the hinges on the ailerons, flaps, and elevators are a real eyesore; and while the panel lines are nice, the lack of other surface detail (rivets and stenciling) drives me nuts. The engine is terrific, but the cowl panels fit together like a bad jigsaw puzzle... ugh, frustrating. The gear and well area is detailed and terrific looking, and then you look at it again and think, "hmm... the gear just does not look right" (I think for me the rake looks off and the strut doors look too short). But then I look in the air intake and see the photo etched grill and fall in love with the thing again. Then I look at those blasted hinges and I hate the thing! I am carrying on this little battle in my head and I can't decide if I love these Stangs or hate them! However, I would take one over a Corgi anyday.
