| Re: Witty Spitfire - What do you think? Tundra,
I hope I can be of help. I have this particular Spitfire on my shelf along with my other airplanes and it is quite unique in that it stands out because of its silver paint and Star of David insignia. This is the only Witty Spitfire I own and compared to the Corgi and Dragon Spitfire's it really does not compare. The wing guns are just little stubs, which really do not even look like guns. They should have just left them off if they were not going to put any effort into making them look realistic. The panel lines on the top and bottom of the wings look good, but are not impressive at all on the fuselage. The engine exhaust pipes are very nice. The wheels roll and the propeller spins nicely. There is a pilot, but the cockpit is nothing but a green piece of plastic with what appears to be a gun sight attached to it.
In short, up close this particular plane is not real impressive. But again, I bought it because it was the only Israeli piston engine fighter I could find and I thought it was unique. |
