Re: How about a Curtiss P-36/Hawk 75 in 1/48th scale

I think the P-36/Hawk 75 series would be a great candidate for a model in either 1/48th or 1/72nd scale. One it is a nice looking aircraft and two, well it has a fairly exstensive list of possible paint schemes and also retractable verses fixed landing gear versions. The list of possible paint schemes would actually be pretty impressive. Some possible schemes could be: Pearl Harbor P-36 (Harry Brown's plane would make a good choice), Hawk 75s in French markings, Finnish version, Thailand and the huge selection of United States markings.

I agree 100%. There are terrific USAAC / USAAF schemes than can be done, and it would be most impressive at 1:48 scale. I badly want interwar USAAC fighters so I welcome anything P-1 through P-36 (bust especially P-1, P-6E, P-12, P-26 and P-36)!

I shouldn't leave out USN interwar fighters either!
