| Re: US 2007 Catalog I have about twenty Corgi 1/50 scale tanks and military vehicles so you would think I'd be in favour of more 1/50 models and figures. But the fact is I think they are a blind alley for Corgi and they often go for next to nothing on eBay simply because they made to many and not many people want them.
I have said many times that Corgi should get into 1/72 scale military vehicles to complement their 1/72 aircraft. Dragon have hardly scratched the surface of the vast amount of molds that could be done in 1/72 diecast. This gives Corgi an ideal opportunity to make soft skinned vehicles and the lesser known armor that so many collectors have been requesting.
For example I have bought several tanks and vehicles from the Corgi Showcase range simply because they are close to 1/72 scale. Surely it wouldn't be a big step for Corgi to move from the various Showcase scales to 1/72 overall. |
